Ana Ruiz, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology, and Judith Warchal, Ph.D., Professor Emerita, in the Department of Psychology and Counseling at Alvernia University, have worked on incorporating ethics into the teaching and learning objectives of psychology courses since the 1990s.
They were the 2011 STP IRA co-recipients of a grant to develop the Activities Guide: Teaching Ethics in the Introduction to Psychology Course, the 2012-2013 Association for Psychological Science, Fund for Teaching and Public Understanding of Psychological Science that supported the creation of this resource, and recipient of several Alvernia University Faculty Excellence Grants. Dr. Ruiz is the author of a teaching tips article on teaching Ethics in the Introduction to Psychology Course. Drs. Ruiz and Warchal have co-authored several other publications and conference presentations on the topic of ethics in regards to undergraduate education and service-learning, including a book Service-Learning Code of Ethics a 2014 article Ethics as an undergraduate Psychology Outcome: When, Where, and How to Teach It.
